Hi everyone, I just moved down to Tuckerton (Ocean County) from Sussex and was wondering if there was anywhere around here where I could hunt Geese/ducks without a boat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the welcome Jim and I'll have to look into Stafford Forge as a place to hunt. From the maps I've looked at on Fish and Wildlife's website I can't get much of an idea how to get to the creeks and suck. Guess I'll just have to scout them the old fashioned way.

As mentioned Stafford Forge is a good place. Drive and walk around the lakes and there are many places to set up from the shoreline. Also try Lake Oswego in Penn State Forest.Limited shore line access and both places do get crowded on opening day and on Saturdays. You best bet would be on weekdays ... watch wading in those lakes ... you can sink in "muck" at any given time. Good Luck!

Before I bought a sneakbox, we would jumpshoot ducks in the marshes along 7 Bridges Road. Windy days are the best for jumpshooting. Mostly black ducks. I still hunt that area with boat and occasionally walk the meadows when things get slow and conditions are right. This area is the Great Bay Wildlife Management Area. You can park your vehicle any where along this road and walk into the marsh. The tidal creeks will restrict your movement since you don't have a boat. Do it before it freezes. It doesn't always freeze out there but when it does, the ducks won't use the many ponds out here.
