Me and my friend Sammy just got the VIPER X5, we put them together, Summit needs to redo the instructions, they do make it hard. We worked on them for over 1 hour, and still not done. We looked at pictures in Cabelas of the stands try to see where that bungy cord goes, weather its in front or behind of those foot holders, then we tried to put the stands together to carry on our shoulders, the instuctions tell one way we tried it didnt work. I just hope these Summit stands are as good as people claim. My API was much more simple

I just got the summit openshot myself, and I can attest to the difficulty of the instructions. They give you that dvd, that actually clears it up quite a bit. That bungee cord goes in front of the stirrups (closer to the tree) so you can hook your feet in there. The only thing i really couldnt figure out is that little teather cord that youre supposed to hold the two pieces together with. It just seemed too short to climb with so i just took it off. Seems like a good, light stand though, and it climbs pretty easily. I dont have any base of comparison though..

I have a summit bushmaster...It pretty much came totally assembled. all you have to do is add a strap here and there...Dont worry guys, you'll figure it out. As has already been pointed out the bungee strap goes in front of the stirrups. you all are going to love your summits. they climb great and are very sturdy. i even climbed a very smooth barked tree the other day with no problems. those teeth dig right in.

Carlo I hope you replaced it with another cord. If your feet come out of the stirrups the bottom platform could slide down by itself. But I'm sure your aware of that.[smirk]

mom fell like a brick sh>t house then i went up no problen hay woj
, summit now sells these stirrups instead of using the bungees and strap for the feeet. they will work on older models of bushmasters. they are like $25. i might get a pair and try them out on my stand.
i got the 2005 razor x and they still us the bungee and stirrup are you talking about a upgrade for this combo
