So far the only WMA that we can do picnicking, fishing, small game hunting, target range shooting (gun & archery), hiking. if this sounds good to everyone then the next steep would be to pick a date and time. Remember this is just one place out of many, but it is the only WMA that would let us do everything I posted. If someone has the land or knows of land we can use we can vote on that too.

I read your post about ten times now, and I still cant figure out which WMA your talking about.

I was thinking Black River range, or the range up by the Flatbrook WMA.
Or if anyone is a member of the Green Mounatin Bowmen, maybe we could meet and picnic at Mahlon Dickerson park, and shoot at the GMB range down the street.

No matter where we do it, if we do it in the next few weeks we could really make a heck of a day out of it. Trout fishing, shoot bows, grill some food....MMmmmm...Im drooling already.

I can bring some venison burgers and hotdogs to grill.

I also think it would be nice for anyone who has them, to bring the kids along for a day of fishing and shooting.
I have a genesis bow I could bring for the youngsters, just as long as we supervise them, and no one breaks it.

I think we could have a blast!!![up]

I think most will want to do it at Black River WMA, If we do it so everyone from the board comes we should find a central location. Assunpink is more in the middle of Jersey. We can target shoot, fish, small game hunt. I well write the F&G and see if we can have a cook out there too.

Assunpink would be my vote. Archery Range and Trap range next to each other, ample parking and we could BBQ on th other side of the road & lake Assunpink is not 3 minutes down the road for those who want to fish.. If it is a date that I can make & we do it at Assunpink; I'll bring my trap thrower.

well I called F&G and was told at Assunpink we would need a permit and no cooking/picnicing as for Pequest we can do everything. There for I vote for Pequest.

Maybe it's the same message board....I had a conversation today with
someone who wanted to organize bow shooting and a picnic here. You are
welcome to use our facilities (picnic and archery shooting) any time. If
you are planning to be here late in the day (after 4:30 p.m.), let us
know so that we can notify night watch to leave the gates open to the
picnic area. No reservation required.

Our fishing education pond is open for scheduled classes only. We will
have some days where experienced anglers can bring a friend (a newcomer)
to teach them basic skills. You can check our schedule of programs
online on our website for more info.

There is no shotgun range here. There was at one time, but it is no
longer safe to shoot. You can go on Friday nights to the Shongum
Sportsmen's Club on Mt. Bethel Rd. in Great Meadows. They open their
trap range to the public. Any other questions, please contact me.
