This was my decoy set up sat night. I had her between two mock scrapes that were 25 yds apart. At 5:30 I had a fat 4 pt come in just checking her out. He circled downwind of her and got very couroius. I had her sprayed down with doe pee. He never came into her but was 10 yds from me,and offered me 5 different shots if he was my big 8 i'm after. I thought it was cool that was the second time I brought out a decoy and the first interaction I ever saw with a decoy.

Cool!

Decoys are a great tool, I used to use them, but found them too cumbersome. If you can get it in the woods though, all the more power to you![up]

Heres a tip for you too Luknikk on decoy placement.

Have her sharply quartered away from you (facing almost straight away).

If a buck comes in and approaches her, he will come in and try to sniff her butt. If she is quartering away from you, he will have to approach from, or turn and give you a broadside or quartering away shot. Try to let him have it before he actually gets to the decoy too, Ive had deer spook the minute they sniffed the decoy.

Calling in conjunction with the decoy usually works like a charm. Oh and buck decoys work really well too....sometimes better than doe decoys.

If you use a buck decoy, have him angled like you have in the pic or broadside. They will approach them
from the front and sometimes mirror the decoy. They are basically looking for a fight. [up]

Best of luck getting that big eight Luknikk!!![up][up]

Is that a pile of apples and corn in the background?

I dont know that decoys would work that well over bait. Deer get scared when the decoy doesnt move. In my experience, they dont stick around much longer than about 3 minutes. If the decoy doesnt move by then, they take off. (thats without bait. With bait, I think it might be shorter than that, because they come to expect danger around bait. That deer looks like its alert to something, and that will probably deter other deer.)

If you have live does visiting the bait, just let them get comfortable, and the bucks will cruise in.;)[up]
