I was in Alpha over the weekend, A buddy of Mine works for a company, which I wont tell about, LOL which is right on the river. So i went with him to work so he could get some tools from there, i asked about the fishing there, and he showed me a spot on the river, which diverts from it and into their building so they can produce their own power. He took me behind the building to show me the fish that are their...NOW LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I SAW!!!! Roughly a Dozen TROPHY sized tiger trout, Half Dozen trophy Browns, And a Few scattered Trophy Rainbows...So needless to say i will be fishing there this weekend with, HKDONFSHIN. The good part is not just anyone can fish there, you need to know an employee and fill out a waiver, cause the river runs thru private property. So I will post Pics and stories, when we go this weekend!!!

Sounds good... you lucky dog. Places like that are hard to comeby. Good luck man!!

I fished the lower portion of the big flatbrook this weekend and saw a few really good size trout... rainbows mostly. Probably breeders stocked by the state. They wouldn't hit on a darn thing. I caught four smaller ones but the big boys wouldn't hit a single thing. The water was low and clear so maybe that had something to do with it.

Yeah that is the same for the musky, it was clear and low, but they were hiding in the shade, dont think we can fish right over top of them , might have to do some casting to them from a distance, but we'll see, they are actually so close that i could net them, lol

I fished Spruce Run Creek and South Branch of the Raritan Saturday morning. The water was so low and so clear that i experienced the same thing - The fish just wouldn't bite. I even crouched down behind a few rocks and was wearing camo BDUs to break up my profile, but it didn't work.

I had to go up to the Pequest to get my limit of trout - All Rainbows caught on worms and Trout Magic Imitation Mealworm Jigs.

I think that a lot of the fish are line shy and are pounded quite reggularly) , so I think it's now the perfect time to break out the fly rods &/or start fishing with fly fishing tippet line (6X or 7X) attached to the 4# test on my spinning reel. [confused]

OUCH !!!!

Woj, don't be sooooo harsh, you might damage my self esteem!!!!![smirk]

Now let me tell ya - I've been told (matter of fact at Errico's on Thursday and Saturday night) that I'm quite a handsome shaved headed, goatee sporting, fine smelling (was wearing Drakar), tattooed gentlemen by quite a few young ladies and two beautiful smokin' hot bartenders!!!!!:D

Of course, the young ladies were drinking for quite some time (some excessively), and it was already 10:00 PM when I got there!!!! But, the bartenders were sober!!!!:D

And, like the true gentlemen that I am, I escorted one of my choosing out to my truck, then to her car!!!!! [smirk][up][up][up]

When I was in high school my buddy and I used to sneak back behind there. If you go up to the dam where the water is diverted. Below this dam was a large pool of water, we caught the largest crappy (sp?) I've every seen, bass, blue gills and trout. It was amazing. In the canal we would see all kinds of fish.

Good luck, this sure brought back some memories...

mysticguido & imb21 - Isn't the Muconetcong Gorge WMA there on Rte. 519/Dennis Road opposite the mill or some sort of powerplant?[confused]

I drove by there a few times, and it looked like one hell of a breathe taking steep mountain you had to climb down to get to the Musky. Not my cup of tea if ya know what I mean - A hike in is one thing, but not at that incline!!![smirk]

Must be nice to park at the mill!!!! ;)[cool]
