More fish in the river, but not a one to eat
Meadowlands species gaining, but still tainted

Signaling the improving health of the Meadowlands ecosystem, a larger variety of fish has returned over the past 15 years, though the fish still are unsafe to eat, according to a study released yesterday.

Nevermind. I should have tried the link before bumping it. Story is no longer there. I figured from Jim's intro it was going to be good.

after seeing that landfill in the meadowlands, i wouldnt eat them even if they were declared safe to eat...

Mack, have you ever been to the Hackensack Meadowland Environmental Center in Lyndhurst. Very neat place. I used to go there on field trips.

i went there in 7th grade. they have a bunch of taxidermied animals including pheasants. we saw one run across the path when we were walking around the pond. but there were waaaaaaay too many bugs...

We went into the fields and caught the bugs. We also seined the march and caught killie fish.
