More family fishing (pics)

ok, first of all, let me say that I am NOT the most patient person in the world. I knew right off the bat that taking my 3 boys fishing was going to require much more patience than I was used to having. But, I figured I'd give it a go this year. Thanks to some great rods given to us by runum & njdave, we've had some good times so far. But, I've learned a couple things along the way:

1) Worms that have been dead in a container for 2 weeks REEK worse than anything I've ever smelled in my life. [eek]
2) I need to take the boys out fishing ONE AT A TIME. I cannot take all 3 boys out together and expect that the time will be relaxing at all. (My boys are 6, 5, and 2).
and, finally,
3) If I want to have some time fishing myself, I need to go out alone, at night, after the boys are in bed.

Having said that, I have LOVED the time that the boys and I have spent together fishing. I love the opportunities that I have to teach them about the outdoors, animals, Creation, etc.

One of our favorite places to go is Lake Ocquittunk. We went yesterday afternoon (Fri). Here are my 2 oldest boys:




Finally, in all the times that I've been out by myself, I've caught nothing but 1 pickeral back in May. Well, tonight, I went back to Ocquittunk, and caught myself as 8" smallmouth, a 10" largemouth, and a respectable sunny. Of course, since the boys weren't with me, I didn't bring the camera. [wallmad]

Oh well. There's always next time. And there will be a next time...
