"How will they deal with the possible existence of a Garden State Sasquatch?"
That's easy to answer if history is our reference. The sasquatch will be a protected secies and will begin to proliferate. Then when it encroaches on human property we will hear some people complain about property damage and fear for their lives. They will suggest that maybe the sasquatch be controlled using hunting as a management tool. Then the anti's will come up with scores of reason as to why the sasquatch should not be hunted - including that although it is a predator it has a right to exist and that it is proven that the sasquatch doesn't harm people unless it is provoked. Fish and Game will recommend "managing" the sasquatch using harvest quotas and the anti's will then take it to the commissioner of the DEP who will rule NO by fiat. In the meantime we will have sasquatch roadkill all over the state of NJ and 2 people will have died at the hands of sasquatches - but of course it was their own fault for trying to protect their pets or property (darn stupid people). A case will be made to the State Supreme Court to manage the sasquatch population by proven effective methods and it will defer to the commissioner of the DEP who then feels that we should study the issue further. He will suggest that we employ contraceptives to the sasquatch and add anti-hunters to the Fish and Game council to help manage the situation. In the mean time 2 more people will have died in car accidents with the sasquatch but it won't be reported on the news.
