"A Milton man admitted in municpal court that he regularly spreads seeds, corn, and peanuts in his yard to attract birds, wild turkeys, squirrels, and deer. The fact that bears also frequent his yard and may stop to eat the scattered food is beyond his control, argued Michael Gliganic during a hearing last weekd before Judge William Bowkley."
Basically his neighbor complained. F&W officer Dean Simona visited his house and found 2 bird feeders with seeds sprinkled beneath them. He gave Gliganic a warning... the feeders attrach bears. The F&W officer returned again... the feeders were still up. Then the officer returned a week later... the feeders were removed but Gliganic spread seed, corn, and nuts on the ground.
He was fined $200
