Anyone hunt manasquan wma? My new job is pretty much across the street from the public launch ramp road. Wondering if a lot of guys hunt it and if it has any deer action? Id love to bring the climber and bow to work and shoot across the street right after work.

There are some bruisers there, but ya gotta get in the thick riverbottom. to get away from the pressure. Don't overlook the area off Ram's Horn Dr.
I use to train my coonhounds there in the 1987 area and saw some beauties at night. The old well know Bennett's Orchards had some of their monsters infiltrate there, during the rut, so good blood got spilled over.

drome, I went and checked it out during the first week of the season. Im honestly not sure how to go about hunting there. I'm assuming you're talking about the entrance on ramshorn drive. I drove down there and went down the trail and it just ends at the river, i guess it would be quite a hike to get to any decent spot? maybe pretty swampy too.. I dunno, living in point pleasant that is by far the closest WMA to me so i'd love to be able to hunt it. maybe we can do a collaborative hunting effort or something.

The other side is Ridge Rd. off Sally Ike. There use to be some C.O.'s lived in the house there that the state owns, so dot you I's and cross your T's.
That area is the other side of the river from Ram's Horn., don't sell it short. Also the area that that sits between the GSP and Lakewood/Allenwood Rd., harbors some nice buck. A piece of Allaire Park sits just to the west side of the GSP, which gives 'em safeharbor. Once small game opens, it really gets tough there, but a ruttin' buck has no conscience.

I've found that there are usually people fishing, hiking, training dogs, in this wma. It is not a large wma. There are also homes near the water in certain sections so be careful of the 450 foot rule. But, like someone said earlier - it's worth a try.
