Thinking of buying a Mad River Canoe/Kayak from Dick's (16 ft Adventurer) for pleasure boating in flooded timber near where I live and some fishing down at the shore in some coves and small canals where my in-law's have a place in Manasquan. Just big enough for me and my 2 young boys..or maybe just for me and some peace and quiet and time on the water.

Any opinions? Thanks.

my buddy has one and was just in it on sunday. it is very durable. the explorer is a little on the heavier side for loading it up with gear and people and the v hull for long river paddles and open water. wasnt the steadiest canoe ive been in but not bad i was able to stand to fish. i wouldnt want to paddle it by my self cause of the weight and a little long to manuaver. its made well and will last just few drawbacks for certain uses
