Its that time of year again.


The weather this year really messed everything up, big time. I made less then 1/2 of the syrup I was expecting. It was very dissapointing, but theres always next year


Anyway, I do have some to sell. Again, my prices are a little high but I need to really cover my costs this season, if I got what I was expecting it would have been a whole different story, price wise.

Just outta curiosity, did it take more sap to make a gallon of syrup this year as opposed to other years? Last years ratio was 40 gal of sap to 1 gallon of syrup, this year was like 60:1. Looks like nice stuff, and well worth the work in the end.

Deernutz what was the percentage of sugar in your sap ? Mine was low this year @ 2% witch is 43.3 gallons needed to make a full gallon cooked @ 219deg

yeah, I was around 50:1

1.5% +/- depending on the day

Do the trees produce lower sugars because of the warmer climates this winter?
