Was setting up a blind on municipal land that allows hunting. Had a lady call the police because i was carrying a bag og feed she suspected I was hunting. I was like yeah you can hunt here.i explained how the gas line was owned by nj gas but the woods was township. The police just drove by I never saw them she said they took my plate but they didnt wait for me or anything? She said she has little kids and a dog and she doesnt want anyone with guns walking by I explained I was following all of the laws and regulations and how were not by her house and how im very responsible. She seemed nice but nothing wad really resolved. I mean the cop didnt leave me a parking ticket and i have parked inthe spot several times. No tickets or anything. I just need to know if im allowed to park there? Is it like as long as I dont block acess to the line? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I HAVE RUN INTO THIS PROBLEM IN RINGWOOD . THE PROBLEM USALLY STARTS WHEN THE PERSON SAYS " I JUST MOVED HERE FROM BERGEN COUNTY YOU CANT HUNT HERE!" AND IT ENDS WHEN THE RINGWOOD PD,THE STATE PARK POLICE AND NJ FISH AND GAME CO CHECK MY LISCENSE, AND EXPLAIN TO THE LADY " MAAM ITS STATE LAND, THE SEASON IS OPEN , HE IS CARRYING THE PROPER LISCENSE. HE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO BE HERE! THIS HAPPENED 3 DAYS IN A ROW TO ME WITH 2 DIFFERENT ANTIS ON THE SAME STREET. ON THE THIRD DAY I TOLD HER HUSBAND TELL THE POLICE ITS THE SAME GUY AS YESTERDAY WHEN YOU CALL ! [wallmad]

In some towns the clerk can tell you. Have the same deal in a spot I hunt. Gas company hangs a no tresspassing sign across an access road that is state property. As long as it is not blocked we can march up and down all day. PD should know give them a call too. Then tell the lady to go home:)

Go to the local pd. I am sure if you tell them where you are at they will be able to help you. Most cops hunt and they will understand. You have nothing to hide so might as well make them aware that you are going to be there to avoid any problems later.

there is a power line that we used to hunt all the time which was an easement. The power company posted it, mainly because of dirt bike riders. Cops dont patrol, but have to come get you if the "landowner" calls in. Its all very confusing. Needless to say i dont hunt there anymore.
