Having grown up in an outdoors family — her mother is a taxidermist, her father a gunsmith — Pennington resident Laura Young perhaps was destined to become a serious deer hunter. Here's her top buck to date, a 19 1/2-inch 6-pointer taken in Dec. 2002 with a 150-yard shot from Laura's custom slug gun. The mature whitetail had a field-dressed weight of 185 pounds.
