Shad have been swimming upstream in the Delaware River for millennia, and Lambertville has celebrated their journey for almost a quarter-century.
But with volunteers in short supply, the local chamber of commerce is rethinking next year's Shad Fest.
With many perennial participants unavailable next year, including longtime chairman Steven Stegman, chamber President Tom Martin has been conducting an informal poll of members on whether the event should end after 25 years.
