The Monmouth County Park System's annual deer hunt — which resulted in 421 kills by hunters during the past season — will remain contained to the same presently hunted 15 park areas for the coming year, according to recommendations made by administrators in a report issued Wednesday.
Park areas in Marlboro, Middletown, Millstone Township, Upper Freehold, Howell, Roosevelt, Holmdel, Wall, Tinton Falls, Neptune and Freehold Township will be open for hunting beginning in October for up to 4-1/2 months if the guidance is followed by recreation commissioners, who will listen to public comments at their meeting on Monday and take action June 8.
