Seems like every year I get at least one that bites me. Just had my wife remove it from the back of my upper arm. Funny thing is tomorrow I had an appointment with my Dr for a Lyme blood test.
Time to buy the gallon size permamone.

I grew in Dutchess county NY which had one of the worst tick/lyme breakouts in the Northeast in the 90's. (On one day alone a counted over 150 ticks on me while stalking.)

Since moving to NJ one of the things I have been pleasantly surprised about is the almost complete lack of ticks, relatively speaking....Well wouldn't you know, this year it is clear a large breakout is starting again here in NJ as well. Where it used to be very unusual to see ticks on the deer in the trail cam pics I had the past few years, this year they are covered with them.

Moral of the story...if this anything like it was when it start by me over a decade ago we are likely in several years of exploding tick populations. (Their populations are highly cyclical.)

not for skin just the clothes right?
Correct, it works well. I take my hunting clothes, boots, etc., outside and spray the cr#p out of them, let them dry and I'm good to go. I was getting them in PA during fall turkey last year then starting using the Sawyer spray and that ended that. BTW, went to Echo Lake to do some shoreline fishing to kill the late afternoon this past Sunday and pulled two off for the small amount of time I was there. Since, sprayed my hiking boots as well.

Sorry to hear John. Was it a deer tick or a dog tick? I get blood drawn for lyme twice a year. If that tick bit you and it was a lyme carrier it won't show up for about a month so make sure you go back for another test.

Sawyer's spray smells like hell when wet... but is odorless once you let it dry out.

I did all my hunting clothes last year in late August. Didn't see a tick on me all season (and yeah, I still check religiously).

Just checked, the brand I've been using is made by Coulston's, "Coulston's Duranon Tick Repellent" odorless formula, thought it was Sawyer. It's probably the brand that's been locally available where I shop, I bought the two cans I have on-hand at Davis' in Sloatsburg, NY.
