I called Jim 5 weeks ago for a price on a Les Bear 1911. I've called several times since then. I have yet to hear back from him! The only reason I called him was because of all the raving reviews about him here. I'm disappointed to say the least.[down][down]

he is a very very busy guy. U need to call and ask to speak with jim or go in in person.
I can confirm that. He is very busy and you do need to speak with him directly. It sounds kind of unusual for him to not call back or not be able to get in touch with. I would suggest stopping by, I think his hours are 8-5. If you can't stop though, make sure you ask to speak to Jim next time you call.

I'm not bad-mouthing anyone. All I said was that I was very disappointed. I'm giving an unbiased, and honest review/account of my dealing with him. I called him because of the repeated ravings of his good prices. I take my business where it's appreciated. As a matter of fact, the Les Bear is for my best man, not for me. He was going to purchase one in CT, and I said he should give Jim a try since I heard nothing but good things about him.
FYI: I' just received a call with a price. A very good price! It sometimes takes a squeaky wheel. I believe 5 weeks is a very long time. I called way in advance, because I knew my buddy's permits would take a while.

I bought my M/L from him in October. I did everything over the phone and picked it up without any problems whatsoever. I just wish he had Saturday hours. Jim's a great guy. [up][up]

Selling guns for jim is a passion and a hobby not a carreer.. If you can stop in or be patient you will not get a better price from a better guy anywhere.. He sells guns because he thinks everyone should own one and not have to sell his soul for it..

Jim's business is Truck repair 1st & for most. Not returning calls to people shopping for a price. I've  known Jim for 35 yrs & he's a meet in person kind of guy. So call & ask if he some time (truck repair comes 1st) & go meet the man.

I can appreciate you sticking up for your buddy, but he did admit that he made me wait a long time. He was very pleasant to speak with. I was never rude to him, and we spoke to each other like men. I explained my displeasure and he was quick to make up for it by returning my call with an excellent price. It all worked out.

This guy is a TRUE gentleman.. He has helped me out several times as well. I would have to agree that it is best to see him in person. He is a very very busy person and never blows anybody off. Maybe he just hadn't had the right people get back to him yet.

I went through the same as Ducati. He is busy. He gave me great prices but never came through with the order. Later, he told me to forget about trying to order handguns. Ended up doing a transfer and buying off his stock this past month. Great Guy. I drove an hour & half and will do it again in a couple of months. He is definitely a meet & greet type. Forget about email (which he has).
