how old do i have to be to get a gun permet to work armed security? im 20 years old now

I believe you have to be atleast 21 years of age, and have to go through three months of training, but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure you have to be at least 21 since you are non-law enforement and are going to be carrying..

If you are non law enforcement and want to carry a gun you have to be 21. I currently work for a large private security company and all I have to say is good luck. With nj's gun laws and with how hard it is to get a permit to carry few security companies will give out letters of need. (what you would need to carry a gun) The liability is too much when they can just hire law enforcement and not have to worry about any of the liability. My company stopped issuing letters of need years ago. If you can't legally carry on your own, you can't carry for us
