Below is a link to the current Hunter's Ed manual section that covers BOW Hunting. As you can see, new students are already being educated in the use of CrossBOWS in NJ.

ok then..I stand corrected...i can admit that...but you got to admit...the debating never goes anywhere but circles
we have these circles to give the pivet men something to do......it keeps down the complaining when their mouthes are full;)

As far as the hunter ed manual [up][up] safety is always the best policy:)
the circles get real old real quick....and ditto on the safety
safety is always the best policy
Then the state should retest already licensed bowhunters that want to hunt with a crossbow, because what stated that manual, about crossbows, was never read by already licensed NJ bowhunters.
you just cant leave it alone can you?? give it up already, you guys arent getting your way so take the ball and go back to your own yards to play

We can't, the state gave our yards away

As for crossing over... I have owned xbows for decades and I'm still against them in bow season.

What did I say? I stayed on topic and wasn't offensive.[confused][confused]

Most states are just grandfathering the current hunters. All NEW hunters ongoing will be instructed on the crossbow. ( but then they are not New Jersey)Please feel free to petition to have all hunters recertified. If you feel the hunting community as a whole needs to be recertified go for it. Just be carefull what you are trying to propose. Does the UBNJ support recertification for all hunters? Just wondering??
Would never hurt to have a refresher/crossbow education class. I'm for it. [up]
Let me nip it before it gets out of control.

What I meant by that was it just never seems to end. Every time a step is taken it seems something new comes up to debate or argue, kind of like a wrench getting thrown into the situation. I'd like to just see everyone ride it out and see how everything unfolds. I thought we we're past this and everyone excepted to stop the fighting since it was pretty much a done deal

As far as current bowhunters retaking the test just for crossbows. I'm kinda on the fence but like mentioned before you can never have enough safety[up][up]
If they RE-test then it is NOT "just another bow"[rofl]

Some will NEVER be past the crossbow issue done deal or not! Some will always try & find a flaw or find a reason to question inclusion. Nit picking every single post trying to stir the pot but this is an open forum and that is their perogitive. As hunters we just need to stay the high road. The constant nit picking wears thin on most hunters. It appears we have full inclusion ignore the pettyness and post positive crossbow posts. Try and ignore the nay sayers. There are some still challenging inclusion in Ohio after 30 years. To each his own!

As a word of advice, please try to keep it calm and "clean". I understand that those in power haver their finger poised on the "BANNING" key for a few of you. And as much as I sometimes differ in opinions with some, I'd hate to see their emotions get them tossed off NJH. Because we all can bring good things to this "table" . And above all, we're all Sportsmen, and women. And we need to stay together to deal with the big picture.....
You all know Im not a fan of crossbow in archery season. But I, for the most part, bring up valid points to why I believe they don't belong in archery season. Just because my views don't match yours doesn't mean Im a "naysayer" and my posts are petty. To me "Saftey" is not petty.

Well said[up][up]
