Alright let's see what kind of replies get posted here. What is your weapon, ammo and what is YOUR effective range...Also what is the max range you practice at?

My weapon of choice is a Compound bow ammo is a broadhead fitted arrow, my effective range is 50yds but I practice out to 60 yds with my hunting bow.

Whamo sling shot, marbles out to 30 yds.

Bow, won't shoot a deer past 30. Shotgun, won't take a shot past 40. And if its thick, no farther than 25yds

Bow - 30yds max, practice out to 45+

Slug gun - 150yds max, practice at same

30.06 - 150 yds max, until I get a 12x or 14x scope on top (9x now)

Xbow - 30 yds max, practice out to 50 but slow fps only about 290

I shoot a Knight Revolution. I have it sighted in at 100yds, I actually took a buck at about 100yds during Muzzy season. See my post "Muzzy deer(story)" i shoot 100grs of 777 pellets with a 295gr Power belt Aero tip. I havent shot farther than that but Im sure it can accuratly shoot further. For the most part the modern in-line muzzys have close to center-fire accuracy.

I believe in only taking one shot, even my pheasant gun is a single shot... It makes it more interesting [ko]

With my flintlock smoothie I limit my shots to about 40-50 yards. I regularly practice at 50 yards, occasionally out to 75.

Rifle (.270)- 250 yds, practice at 100

Muzzy. 1" high at 100 yards so I will shoot out to 125 or so.

300 Weatherby Mag I will shoot out 500 yards and prctice regularly out to 320. You need to know your ballistics.
