Going to upland bird hunting preserve next Monday for chuckars hunting. Do not have a dog and they do not have guide. How easy to find and flush chuckars without a dog?

Depends on the amount of cover they stock them in for one. You may find them if the cover is bare, but they will run forever before flying.

Have fun trying.

You'll have a longer hunt that is for sure. Good luck, it will still be fun.

Chuckars walk a lot. Plenty times I see them walking on the road even though cover is available. Sometimes even in pairs. They'll look back at you unafraid. Definitely not alert as pheasants. They go down easier when hit. It will be a fun hunt.

They eat better as well
Love them. I may have to try to get some this year.

Those little bugger can run. I used to chase them at Big Springs. Last time I hunted them though the guides dog caught 2 of them and we wanted to be compensated, but weren't. Oh well. Fast flying and good eating.
