Well I was up at 4:30am this morning after working for 6 days straight. All ready to do some serious hunting. I get all dressed in my hunting cloaths grab my keys and start for the door. Phone rings....[confused) Yup it's work[down] You need to respond to an alarm ASAP[mad] So I head into work do what I have to do and turn around and head home[mad]

By the time I get in the woods it is almost 9am[down]
Then I realize that I am competing for a buck with Muzzloaders as the park is having the muzzeloader hunt[mad] roughly 9 shots from 9am to noon. It is so hard to hunt trophy bucks once the guns go off in the woods.

I think I am done hunting with a bow in New Jersey[mad] The regulations are so screwed up with all sorts of hunts overlaping with bow. Add to that all the permit B.S. which removes flexability in areas to hunt. All the effort I put into bow hunting and some fat [no swearing please] is 500 yards away with a gun. What is the point of even going out with a bow at that stage[confused]OK If I buy a permit I can go in my spots in Morris County for another 28 dollars:eek: I scouted a new spot from 12:30 until 2pm and and will give it a try tomorrow. It is about 2 miles from the park so maybe these deer arent as spooked.

So another day "shot" to sh!t.....

So they decide to hold the hunt not Fish & Game?

I had walked the property line and had 4 guy's sitting right on the line facing into the park swamp.
At least they obey posted signs[up]

I guess working 6 days and expecting a peacfull bow hunt is to much to ask.

Don't mind me...I am just watching my season go down the tubes in a hurry.[cool]

JUST REMEMBER THE WOODS ARE NOT ONLY FOR THE BOW HUNTERS. YOU HAVE HAD ALMOST 2 MONTHS TO HUNT WITHOUT ANY COMPETITION IN THE WOODS SO GIVE US MUZZLE HUNTERS A LITTLE BRAKE, :)

At least Muzzleloaders can read a posted sign.

I know I can't read a Digest.

Well something like that happened to us a few years ago. We totally forgot it was youth shotgun day, here we are sitting in your treestands bow hunting, and we are hearing one shot after another, deer are running 100 mph past us. I then saw a hunter with a child, and I put 2 & 2 together. Not there fault, we all have to rights to be hunting.

It is hard to keep up with anything when you are working 6 days straight with roughly 4 hours sleep in 2 days. No excuse your right but I have been idle from hunting for almost 7 days and was itching to get one today. I could have dropped a small spike that laid down at the base of my tree. I took a bunch of acorns I keep in my pocket and dropped them one at a time on his head while he tried to get some rest. He finally got up after the tenth one landed on his skull:D I didnt want another buck to come along and have this one screw it up on me. Oh well tomorrow is another day and a brand new location.
