I utilize public land. So, yes, I am worried someone would steal my trail camera.

I am already worried that someone will see my tracks in the snow... follow them... and find my camera. [sad]

P.S. - Yes, I am making a home brew digital trail camera. Thanks Double Lunger!

LOCKS ARE FOR HONEST people lets face it ! On the home brews I use EZ web anchors and then use a Python cable lock from master lock .

The best thing to do is hide the cam as best as you can in heavy brush if it is there . Make sure it is not to deep in there so when it shutters a picture the deer is hidden by the brush . Camoflauge it the best you can . Stick a couple sticks around you lock to try and hide the cable as well .

When there is snow on the ground , as I am walking to the place I am going to set my cams up I walk real close to every tree I can . That way someone does not see my tracks walking in the open woods then right up to one tree . When I get to the tree I am going to place the cam I stand in one spot so I do not put alot of foot prints around one tree .

Just a couple things I do .

If you do try a home brew Dragthor do not be affraid to ask me any questions you may have. Anything I can do to help you I'm willing . Maybe even a get togeather if you need help !

What camera are you going to use ? You might have ordered the wrong board ( wrong chip I should say )! I do believe that is a plug and play board for the low end Olympus cameras .

Let me know as soon as you can so I can get in touch with Bill and let him know .

I have a crappy Olympus camera I want to use... a D340R. I also have a new sweet Olympus camera I do not want to use... but may play around with it.

According to Pixcontroller's web site I should be good to go with ANY camera that supports the RS232 specification w/the universal board... the D340R is on his list of cameras that work.

All is well... no need to contact Bill. [smirk]

Sounds good . Good luck . When you are done your first one HAHAHAHA you will start another then another and so on . You'll get to a point where you will need a hand help GPS to remember where you placed them .
