Those springs on that rat trap design wouldn't last three minutes after you caught the first ****.[hihi]

I just built one yesterday from a kit. It measures 16" x 16" x 48" long and is made of 1/4 steel rod and 14 ga.1x2 welded wire.
I bought the kit/frames for about $35.00 ea. and enough wire for two traps cost me $28.00

This size trap would cost well over $100.00 if you bought them already made.

I'll post pics later if you wish.

complete trap 16 x 16 x 48

Here's another cute little trap that is easy to make..I made it to get rid of a troublesome Chipmunk . I caught him on the very first day.

A coffee can, a mouse trap and alittle bit of hardware cloth and presto....Mini live trap !

Here Kitty-Kitty[hihi].

I had a Bobcat on my trapline last year and it was making me nervous...I saw fresh tracks every day. Plus I got a trail cam pick too.I was afraid I was going to catch it in a snare, So I was being extra cautious in how I hung them.
Then one day when I called to report a Coyote that I had caught, The subject of the Bobcat came up. And since I have been involved with the trapping and radio-collaring coyotes for fish and wildlife in the past, They asked if I was interested in trapping it....Non-Game gave me a box trap and bait to catch the cat. and they were going to radio collar it. Well..I set the trap and the first night the cat walked right past it but never entered. Two days later I dropped the door on the trap cause I had to go to the Harrisburg Show for a couple days, When I returned I never saw anymore sign of the Bobcat. When I called to return the trap, they asked me if I'd be interested in trapping Bobcats next winter. ....I said Yes and now I'm building a couple of traps. There is only going to be more and more Bobcats around. So as soon as I see Cat tracks on my trapline in the future, I'm setting a box trap.
Plus with the size of these traps, I could also catch two or three ***** at once.[up]

a guy on ebay makes these. and takes way too many pictures.
the 1/4 rod goes in and bends down, has a small basket on the end. the basket holds the bait and is close to the back of the bucket. it's sheet metal on the animal side and expanded metal on the sides and bottom. when the basket is pulled 1/8" forward the door drops. the round is just sheet metal put on a roller. it was some old shelves, sheared the sides off and rolled. the face is 3/4 x 1/8 flat.
the bucket keeps the rain off the bait. there are 1/4 holes drilled in the center of the bucket bottom for air flow.

******* you did create a monster I think. We made 2 dozen colony traps so far and a bunch of snares. I just don't want to be doing it last minute. We do a couple every pay check. The wife is sick of hearing about it already.
