What are you guys shooting? 3 or 3 1/2? what size shot and which choke.

I think i'm going with Federal Premium Speed Shok Waterfowl WF1433, 12 Gauge, 3", 1 1/8 oz, 1550 fps, #3 Steel Shot with full choke. Maybe imp mod

Is federal Black Cloud worth the $$?

I don't want to waste the money patterning my gun so I came here

I have a Beretta Extrema2, what combo do other Extrema owners use? I find that it shoots Federal loads in general pretty well.

i shoot the Black Cloud's with a brinley goose choke and we do alright....look at the waterfowl threads

I shoot 3" black cloud with an improved and modified, depends where i'm hunting and how far of shots i'm gonna take. I think the black cloud is worth the money, it's cheaper than hevi shot and has the knock down power. Well, as much knock down power as steel shot can have. [hihi]

You should still pattern your gun to see what works best with the gun.

I use the 3 1/2" Black Cloud BB in my 1187 SuperMag with a moderate range Carlson Black Cloud choke for geese. Works great.

didnt care much for the blackcloud.
best shell that i have shot for the money is kent faststeel. much better than the winchester experts and remington sportsman shells.

I shoot 3 1/2 kent faststeel out of my SB11 with the pattern master choke. They are all about the same just gotta put the bead on em.

I agree that the most important thing is that you have to put the bead on 'em. That means lots of practice.

However, I've seen some pretty big differences at the pattern board with different loads/chokes.

Different types of loads/chokes for different types of hunting.. It depends on the area (ponds, lake, river, bay, fields) you are, birds your after and which season (early or late)...

Thats not what I meant.

You can take the same load, from two different manufacuters ..... or a premium vs a budget load from the same manufacturer, and get different results at the pattern board.

Even different manufactures choke tubes can give different results at a 35 yard pattern board.

Again, its putting the bead on the bird and lead, but if you take the time, effort, and money to pattern, you just may discover some semi blown patterns that hurt you.

black cloud just shoots too dirty for me...shooting kent BB's for geese and #2's for ducks out of my SBE2 with tru lok mod and IM chokes
