Took my girlfriend's uncle,John, out on his first turkey hunt today and what a morning it was.Crept in at 4:55 and setup.We wound up in the MIDDLE of a bunch of birds.Gobblers started booming out at day break and hens were extremely vocal. They started pitching out all around us and we we were surrounded by birds.We had 5 huge longbeards in front of us about 55yds out strutting and putting on an incredible show for me and John.The hens moved out and took the boys with them.We came VERY close a couple of times as we played cat and mouse with them right up to 11:55 am.AWESOME morning in zone 20.That was all it took to get him hooked.We will be out again friday morn.
