Family members surely thought their four-year-old relative must have been playing games when he literally cried, ‘wolf.’ In fact, he had just witnessed his grandfather step in the way of a charging coyote. The elderly man’s bravery saved the young one’s life. While granddad wrestled the predator, the four-year-old ran to family nearby.
The coyote had the early upper hand, knocking the man over and biting him several times. However, the 76-year-old recovered and put the beast into a headlock. By the time authorities arrived, the fight was over. Fireman secured the animal’s head into a snare and choked it to death.
The man went to a local hospital for stitches, while the coyotes remains will be tested for rabies.
