This was on the front page of the Atlantic City Press today.

When reading it remember, Jeff Tittel of The NJ chapter of the Sierra Club is a rabid anti-hunter, and the Audobon Society is pushing for deer densities far, far below the carying capacity. In fact, most who know how the process went in Pa put the blame for such low deer densities squarely on the shoulders of the Audobon Society, and their DPSM goals.

It's important to note that the New Jersey Audubon Society is not affiliated in any way with the national Audubon Society or any other state's group.

They have just recently admitted that restricting hunting access to their properties was a huge mistake and have taken steps to allow hunting on their properties. I believe they will open up some of them in 06'.

While they do want deer densities lower than we would like them, they also are aware that with proper forest management we can still have higher deer densities and healthy forests.
