Had a good day at SawMill, got my first duck ever, but....

Basically I spent every spare cent this summer on gear, including a parka, neporene waders, etc. I was wet today, pretty much all day, and I cant figure out why. Maybe it was my fault, letting my shirt sleeve poke out from my parka cuff brought some moisture up my arm, but I hope the $$$ I spent on expensive "waterproof" stuff wasn't in vain.

Jim, goose season is closed now.
I'm just telling you what I'm hearing!!!! Shots then a bunch of geese flying over the house...Then 3 or 4 more groups of shots!!! The shots are pretty far away from the sounds of it! Maybe the geese were just scared off by the shots at something else?!? Somebody is blasting away at something!!

Guys,

While being a reader for months, this is my first post.

Sawmill Creek caught my eye. I had the opportunity several seasons back to field hunt geese. While my friend's job commitments prevent him from continuing, I have hunted for many years, and am eager to particpate in Waterfowling. Sorry to say, I"m not a young guy to join the sport, but an uplander who lives in the Meadowlands, but has neglected this opportunity.

Candidly, I'm looking for an invitation and lesson/lessons on how/where/what to buy, etc. I know there is a Bergen Cty Waterfowler organization, but have been unable to find where they meet, or a contact.

while I have a 12 gauge auto, I'm open to geting whatever I need. I now realize after watching a DU show, the resouce I have within my township and can expand on days afield.

Look foward to hearing from someone.
