Still dont fully understand the moon phases when the moon is full or almost full that means the dear are less likely to move in the morning? I understand you cant shoot them at home just seeing if tommorow has a combo of a full moon and rain maybee ill sleep in. So justwondering what everyone else plans on doing or if a full means the deer are supposed to move in the morning haha im so confused about that.
I dont understand the full moon. Deer are constantly eating correct? Just because they can see better at night doesnt mean they arent going to eat during the day?
Yeah chris i dont know if i buy it they are considered nocturnal animals they could eat whenever they want I personally think that its going to rain overnight and they wont be eating all night even if that is true and with the cold surge leaving tommorow afternoon i wanna hit up the stand in the am.
i think it has to do with the yotes being able to see them better the deer are more cautious
i know at our boy scout camp in hibernia if its a full moon at night you will suprised at how many time you could hear the yots chaseing the deer and when they catch one it sounds like a pack of wolfs
fighting for there share this camp is off upper hiberia road next to farney state park
I never have as good luck seeing deer move with a full moon either. However, my partner was out last night and deer were moving big time. It could have been the high pressure and cool down overode the full moon. ?
Let me give this a shot. According to my prime times luar calendar, tomorrow and sundar are 2 of the best days of the month to hunt. The best day according to the calendar is the 4th. other good days are the 5th,11, 17,18 and 31 all have values above 50. These are the days where the solar/lunar influences are the greatest. There is a good peak of activity in the am between 7 and 8. A moderate peak between 12:30 and 2pm with an overlap of the moon under foot which is supposed to enhance the peak. The a big lull until dark, with a small peak at 7pm.

I don't know why but the full moon always has an effect on the Deer movement. Yes they still have to eat but you will most often see less deer during this moon phase.
The deer have to be somewhere guys. Honestly do you think they disappear during a full moon? Deer commonly move more at night during a full moon but they still are totally huntable. I saw deer all morning today and had a shooter 20 yards from me. Hunt bedding areas hunt hard and don't get out.
I think it is a brightness issue. Their movements are delayed just enough that hunters are out of the woods.
