My friend Sammy got his new 2005 TOYOTA TACOMA yesterday. 4 door, long bed, auto, 4x4, silver, same truck as mine. Last time he brought a new truck was back in 1993, He deserves it, and is really happy with it.[up]
We both got great deals at PRESTIGE TOYOTA in RAMSEY NJ. Easy deals, didn't take long to make the deals. My truck and his are the same, except for mine came already installed items like: step rails, LO Jack, bug shield, heavy duty skid plate, and a few other items. I'm getting 20/22 hwy
I use to just buy toyotas cars and trucks. I owned 3 different cars and 4 different trucks. The last truck that I bought new went through 2 trannies within 140,000 miles plus right after I bought the truck the bed started rusting 2 months later because the paint that was laid down inside the bed was not done properly. Toyota painted it but after that I jumped ship and moved over to Ford and I am more than happy with their products plus when I lay down my hard earned money I know it will stay here in the states where it should be.
Just my 2 cents, Jeff
My best friend's father has a CHEVY TAHOE, some parts are made here in AMERICA, some in CANADA, other parts in MEXICO, my TOYOTA was built here by AMERICANS, almost all the PARTS are AMERICAN made, my TOYOTA will hold its value longer, and will last longer. I use to by AMERICAN trucks, until I got a leamon CHEVY, and while they tried to repair it they gave me a car with 140,000 miles, ripped seats, over flow ashtray, CHEVY themselves told at the time, they wouldn't give me my money back, I met all the qualifications of the NJ leamon law at the time, 3 major problems that will cause saftly or value of the truck, I said see you in court, they said ok no problem, guess what I WON......I brought a FORD during the summer much better truck then CHEVY, but it loved the gas, went back to TOYOTA
Not trying to ruffle any feathers here.
I know that Toyota's are built here but bottom line is that after they pay the American wages guess where the rest of the money goes. That's right it goes back to Japan for future growth of their country not yours and believe me with the money that they save on shipping and import taxes they are making loads of cash. The move to open car manufacturing plants here was because we put heavy import taxes on vehicles coming in. They did not do this for the growth of the USA.
Ford and Chevy make great mid sized trucks that don't use anymore gas than a Toyota or Nissan and they last just as long. And the V8 Tundra is really no different than the F150 or a 1500 sierra or a 1500 Dodge maybe just a little bit smaller.
It is not like the 80's when your American vehicle did not last as long as your loan did.
My point is with all that is going on in this country maybe we should give back to our own and buy American.
FUNNY STORY I HAVE A TOYOTA PICK UP A TACOMA IT IS MY THIRD ONE. I AM IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW ONE SO I DECIDED I WOULD TRY TO GO TO DODGE TO LOOK AT THE 1500 WITH THE HEMI MOTOR. THE PERSON I WAS DEALING WITH TOLD ME I WAS CRAZY TO LEAVE TOYOTA BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT BE BEAT.![up]
