Fluke and shad

Went fishing 🎣 in Manasquan Inlet this evening on a cold, sunny day with a strong east wind. Tide went out, then came back in. Ten surfers 🏄‍♀️ were in the pocket. Two spear fishermen had blackfish and flounder on a stringer. Brant, loons, double crested cormorants, and oystercatchers were nearby. I caught, tagged and released an out of season, undersized fluke with a plain hook Ava A-17. Landed a hickory shad with brother John’s homemade synthetic buck tail teaser.
