I took the family down to Universal Studios in Orlando last week and then down to Ft. Lauderdale for a little R&R. I was able to convince the wife a day on a charter boat might be a fun adventure and I couldn't not sample the Gulf Stream fishery in view of the pristine South Florida beaches. Well low and behold I got into a fierce tug of war with a golden amberjack. It was by far the most incredible fish battle I have ever experienced. The tale of the tape says it all... 62 inches and 70 pounds. Yes he is getting mounted. The Captain told me out of the 5000 amberjacks he has caught in his career that was by far the biggest he has ever had landed on his boat. He equated it to a 180 B&C buck. I'm real happy but I think I'd rather shoot a 180" cl [no swearing please] buck!!!
