I saw a guy use one of these last year,excellent little tool. I just bought one off of Ebay. I really need it because I can't cut the stomach without hitting something that I'm not supposed to,like the paunch, Ew ugh

I just use the gut hook on the back of my Buck ProLine knife - same concept, though.

That thing you're showing in the pic looks like it would cut a little deep though, ya think?!?!?!??[confused]...And, getting that pointy end in (to get the blade under the skin) looks like it would bust the paunch onthe first attempt!!!

From my experience, although limited, if you have a razor sharp knife and are careful, you don't need a gut hook. To me, it's just another thing you need to carry along that's taking up space.
