hey....ive got a 1yo weimeraner and im looking to put her on some live birds....where could i find pigeons for sale in northern nj? how much do they usually cost?
There is a guy in Branchville By the sussex fair grounds that sells Qual. I don't remember his name but if you find someone let me know I need some also.
I have an email from the state and I believe you can use them. I believe you can not shoot them if on a WMA. I know you can use gamebirds on a WMA but can not shoot out of season and more than the state limit.
I have a buddy that traps pigeons from various overpasses around Metuchen and Edison. He bought the trap from Lion Country Supply.
Once he had the pigeons get used to entering the trap for food, he's been able to catch 7-8 every time he puts it out, enough that he gives me 3 or 4 a week to work my pup...it would probably work for you as well.
If you've got a new pup coming, you'll be looking at the Lion Country catalog a lot -- their prices are good, and they place a pretty high emphasis on customer service. Their check cords are by far the best and most reasonably priced that you'll see...
Usually ship next business day. Typically, if you order on a Monday, you'll have it in hand by Thursday...
