What a boring night...........................................................
So I decided to go catfishing
got down to the river around 9. Bait of choice was venison. half ounce egg sinker and a size #2 bait holder hook. 8lb test...I was ready for monsters[hihi]
Started off with a few small taps. Either small cats or eels. Then I finally had a few good thumps and set the hook resulting in my first of the night...a runt bullhead. Threw back out..had a nice tap tap tap and i set the hook but nothing was there...
About 20 minutes later I got a nice tug and I set the hook on my 2nd cat of the night..He was pretty beaten up but was still a fun fight. Not sure if it was a bullhead or a channel...Im thinking a bullhead with the over sized head/mouth.
I put a bigger chunk of deer fatty nasty tasting meat and leaned the rod on my leg as I texted a girl back After I was done my rod starts to slide off my leg and I quickly pick it up and give a jerk, nice fish on! The fish makes a jump in the darkness and peeled off some line. I was able to wrestle it in after a minute and landed my last and biggest of the night, a nice channel. It was blind in one eye too!
