I was flipping throught the channels and saw a report on bears in the blue berry fields of South Jersey. They quoted Campbell as saying the DEP will continue to issue permits to farmers to shoot problem bears on their farms. They had are further interview with Campbell where he said the current sightings of bears in South Jersey will weigh heavy on whether there is a hunt or not. He continued to say the based on the reports so far this year there will probably be another hunt to control the population.

I just went to the NJN website and watched the news report in full. They were in Hammonton. They said there were 6 bear reports made in 2003 and 56 in 2004. They did not report anything for 2005. But Campbell did say they would most likely vote in favor of a hunt due to an increase in bear problems.
