Anyone use one? Would a deer target work just as good? The one I have from Cabelas is pretty realistic from 30 yards. Except the not-moving part of course. In the early morning or sun-setting time of day, with the dim light, do you think it would be very different than a decoy?

I have a buddy that uses it in PA, and he had bucks walk right up to it. I have never used one, but thought about it

I always wanted to try a decoy, but I hunt so deep I would kill myself carrying the decoy. From what I saw on TV/videos, it does get the deer to zone in on that decoy

Gotta' get a mojo decoy!! Just spent 9 days in Walpack and had 2 bucks charge up to the decoy. Also set out 2 Renzo doe decoys that work very well also.

Do you think one of those deer targets would look as good as a decoy? I think I'll give it a try. What do I have to lose.

Deer target will work. Couple of years ago we walked one out into the orchard we used to hunt. Put it up on a hill with an orange vest near it. We sprinkled a little doe pee near it and 1/2 hr later after a few tips of the can call and some rattling we watched an 8 pt come from 100yds away on a bee line to the target. My cousin shot him when he was about 50yds away from the target.

I used a deer target Saturday afternoon. Had it set up with some Silver Top on it. Had a small one horned forkie come out and grunt-snort-wheeze at it, and a mature doe was stomping and snorting at it for about 15 minutes. The little buck just walked away after his grunt-snort-wheeze and went across the field to visit the real deer. This was on the farm BROWNING 10GA and I hunt, and it's about the biggest thing I've seen there this year.

Hopefully with all the small scrappies we've been seeing should make for some decent bucks next year-provided they make it through till next year!!

I have used my Macenzie target as a decoy many times. I had mixed results though, and dont use it much anymore. I'm going to try it again in about a week or so when things really heat up.
