Deer Check Station Changes
The information below pertains to 2005-06 deer check station closures and additions. Hunters are reminded that they should bring their deer to an open check station nearest to where the deer was harvested.
Eastern Bait & Tackle, located at 507 Route 9 North, in Bayville, Ocean County, will no longer be open to check deer. Hunters may instead check their deer at Grizz’s Bait and Tackle in Forked River, L&H Woods and Water in Waretown, Lakehurst VFW Post 10061 in Lakehurst or Brick Armory in Brick.

Alpine Meats & Deli, located at 57 Rte. 94 in Blairstown, Warren County, has been added as a deer check station for the 2005-06 deer season. Alpine Meats will be open for all deer seasons in 2005-06. 908-362-8568

Summit Indoor Archery, located on Central Ave. in Jersey City, Hudson County, as well as Warren County Outdoors, located on Rt. 94 in Blairstown, Warren County, have closed and will not be checking deer.

Trophy Room Taxidery, located at 324 Rte. 24 in Chester, Morris County, has been added as a deer checkstation for the 2005-06 deer seasons. Trophy Room Taxidermy will be open for all deer seasons in 2005-06. 908-591-2424

The Port Store, located on Clarks Landing Rd. in Port Republic, Atlantic County, has been added as a deer checkstation for the 2005-06 deer seasons. The Port Store will be open for all deer seasons in 2005-06. 609-652-1616

What does it matter, where you check a deer?
the state always wants you to check it in at the closest checking station to where you shot it. So you aren't driving around with untagged deer i guess.
