I was walking a swamp edge this morning to put out a camera and kicked up a coyote about 25 yds away. After about an hour they started yappin
and continued off and on til I left the area.Hope its not a bad sign for deer season!!!

If the herd is balanced in your area coyote predation is almost non existent.
Being that all fawns should drop the same week it makes it hard for Yotes to find them all...

After the first week it's very difficult for a coyote to catch a deer.
If your herd is out of whack and fawn births are spread out over a month long period, coyote predation goes up drastically.

That's why it's important that a herd is balanced with available habitat and breeding windows are shortened instead of lengthened.

Last year during regular bow season I had a coyote 2 days in a row on camera going threw bait around noon.Seems strange that the other zone I spend more time in the coyotes are more nocternal.
