COLEMAN "COLE" A. GIBBS II, 82, of Alcoa, Tenn., formerly of MONMOUTH COUNTY, died Friday, June 3, at his home, surrounded by his family following a brief struggle with cancer. Cole and Pat moved to Alcoa in l999 after living their entire lives in Monmouth County. Cole retired after 41 years with Equifax and was an avid hunter, fisherman and conservationist. Cole's life centered on his family and sportsmanship, and he served as president of the Asbury Park Fishing Club, three one-year terms as president of the Monmouth County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, two terms as president of the New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, served on the Fish and Game Council of the State of New Jersey and then served as chairman of the Fish and Game Council of the State of New Jersey for eight years.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Michael Walter; a daughter and son-in-law, Christi and Graham Silliman; and grandchildren, Amie, Brian and Kelly Wendel, and Kyle and Kelsey Walter of Friendsville, and Heather and Elizabeth Silliman of North Carolina.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, Tenn., with a service to follow conducted by Rev. Martha Sterne and Dr. Harry Howard. Interment will be a private ceremony at the convenience of the family in New Jersey. A celebration of Cole's life will be scheduled in Monmouth County, New Jersey at a later date to be set.
