I think that article stated what we all know. It is the friendships, not the fish. And yes it is nice to catch one when others can't. However, later in the season it is a pain when they start crowding you if you do that.

Thats what I liked about the artical..It was about the tradition and family/friend bonds being built and renewed more then the catching of fish. Thats what it should be all about! It is to me. Except when I go with Wojtowicza in the near future. I want to catch more and bigger fish then him!

Erbs said Saturday's turnout, compared with previous years, was small. He said he had a photograph from the 1970s showing 107 people in the river, awaiting the start of the season.

I wonder if I'm in that picture.
