I never seen Deer in Heavy Rain but in Light rain I see them out allot. Wet weather makes there sense of smell better. This is why Deer lick there nose and keep it wet. When there nose is wet it makes it easier to smell Preditors (US) In the rain things that a get wet tend to put off more of an odor.

The only reason that I don't like bowhunting in the rain is because if you hit a deer and it starts raining hard then you have a real good chance of losing the blood trail.

Bow hunting in the rain leaves too much risk of losing the deers blood trail...Shotgunning in the rain is a totally different story! It's a great time to still hunt and for stalking...I limit my shot range to within 30 yards...At 30 or less with 00buck the deer is going to drop like a ton of bricks!!!

I agree 100%!

Last year I snuck up on a big ten point bedded in a blowdown during a day much like today. Got within 10 yards before he jumped up and stood broadside at 20 yards. Only problem was, I didnt have a weapon.
