I've been really wanting to go now fishing for a long time and get into it as it looks like a ton of fun. Not sure about how to get into it. Whats needed to be a legal shooter? What's legal to shoot? Where to go? What's some good bowfishing gear? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Valid NJ fishing license, arrows with line attached, and only the following fish species are legal:

carp, eels, flathead catfish, American and gizzard shad, snakeheads, and suckers. See Delaware River and Greenwood Lake (border waters) regs for other exceptions/inclusions if bow fishing there.

Not much done this way. Can all ways go for striper when they are thick in the backbay. Lol.
