i used it for surf fishing and didnt really like it. this line has really bad memory and is pretty stiff. as far as the whole color thing i really cant say but i know it doesnt dissapear in clear or shallow water.
i go with braided line and a flourocarbon leader at the desired length (usally 2-3 feet) and i never have any problems.

i have it on two reels i like it for it abraision factor but on a boat drifting fluke it did tangle but other wise no problems but i also like ande and alot of guys hate it i never had a problem with it also

I did not realize they made a saltwater version. I use it for leaders on my icefishing gear. Seems to work really well there. Well enough I put it on my kids poles.

The color spectrum stuff is true, red disappears under about 8 foot of water. If that leads to more fish in the boat I have no idea.
