try not to think of it. i am fine with buck fever until i realize its getting close enough to shoot than i start thinking of when its gonna kick in. just keep your thoughts elsewhere and aim. after the shot you will realize you had the fever all along you just ignored it [up] after the shot you notice your shaking

Sometimes I have it and sometimes I don't. It all depends on how much time I have between when I see the deer and when I have to shoot and how much anticipation has built up. I really can't point my finger on what actually triggers it and what doesn't. My first deer was like . . . Yeah, I shot it and no fever at all, but then other times, I can't stop the shaking and the heart pounding. First bow deer last year, it was my knee that wouldn't stop shaking, no fast heart pounding or anything like that, just a knee that would't stop shaking. But, breath in through your nose and out through your mouth to calm yourself down.

I posted about this recently. The feeling buck fever gives you is similar to moments that you had to perform in the clutch. For me I use baseball or football. and remember how I overcame that situation example 2 strikes bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. Or 4th down and 1. Think of how you overcame that type of situation. Also if you have killed a buck in the past think in your mind just like last time. meditate at night envision your shot. play it in your mind.
