Boy Scout Council to Host National Youth Outdoor Program
(Millville) – The Southern New Jersey Council, Boy Scouts of America (BSA) will host the Trailblazer Adventure Program on Oct. 29 at Pine Hill Scout Reservation in Pine Hill, New Jersey.

The Trailblazer Adventure Program, a program of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) Foundation, is designed to expose families to outdoor activities and promote an outdoor lifestyle. Hundreds of Scouts and their families will participate in the upcoming Trailblazer Adventure Day.

Groups involved in the program include the USSA Foundation; the Southern New Jersey Council, BSA; the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife and numerous other sportsmen’s groups and businesses.

These partners are giving young people the chance to experience a variety of outdoor activities including archery, firearm safety, trapper education and many other conservation education programs.

Trailblazer is endorsed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation’s (NSSF) STEP OUTSIDE Program and NSSF is a major sponsor. Trailblazer’s success is possible because of the many groups working together to give this opportunity to youth and their families.

“The Southern New Jersey Council, the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife and many others have been great partners in promoting Trailblazer,” said U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation Director of Education Frank Price. “With their help, the Trailblazer Adventure Day will give families the initial exposure to fun activities like shooting and fishing.”

Corporate sponsors include businesses such as Beretta USA Corp.; Bushnell Performance Optics; Cabela’s, Inc.; Cannon Safe, Inc.; Cap America, Inc.; Charles Daly; Classic Accessories; Hunter’s Specialties; KA-BAR Knives/Cutco Cutlery; Licensed Specialty Products; Michaels of Oregon Co.; North Fork Bancorporation; The Outdoor Channel; Target Communications; Venom Manufacturing and Winchester Ammunition.

The USSA Foundation works in partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, NSSF, Fur Takers of America, International Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies, Masters of Foxhounds Association of America, National Wild Turkey Federation, state wildlife agencies and sportsmen’s clubs to make the program a success nationwide.

For more information about the Trailblazer Adventure program, contact the USSA Foundation at (614) 888-4868 or visit the Trailblazer website, www.trailblazeradventure.org. The USSA Foundation protects and defends America’s wildlife conservation programs and the pursuits – hunting, fishing and trapping – that generate the money to pay for them. It is responsible for public education, legal defense and research.

The NSSF is the professional trade association for the firearms industry. Formed in 1961, it manages a variety of public outreach programs with a special emphasis on promoting gun safety and participation in shooting sports. Call (203) 426-1320 for more information.
