Something I do is take 2 makenzie targets and a hunting pal with your climbers and go to your hunting trees(providing they are close to a quad trail) Take turns having your buddy moving the targets to difficult places and letting you shoot at them. He collects the arrows and ties them to your bow roop. Shoot like 20 and then switch shooters. You will get used to shooting around familiar obstacles and get used to the yards of the shot. This could save you the step of the range finder later. When moving the targets around just use a branch or stick to hold it up from behind, then you will not have to keep banging stakes into the ground. Just one thing to keep in mind, the targets will not move like a real deer may, so always shoot for the lower part of the chest. This will put you right in the "living quarters" on the real deer if it jumps the string!! Good luck

Shame you don't live in " south " Jersey.Shamong Twp. I have targets set up in front of one of my Ladder stands, next to the 100yd. rifle range I built in my " backyard " You'd be welcome. Especially by the ticks and chiggers :( They are getting bored with my blood :D
Remember there is no better way to practice than from a treestand.

Drag, you can come over my house and shoot, I have a 30 yard range in the backyard with a large backstop.

Im right over in Landing, which is probably like ten minutes away from you.

The only thing is, you cant laugh at my ******* back yard, and tiny house....other than that....your welcome to come on over, I can even tie on that string loop for you if you want.;) Bow-press, scale etc....any work on the bows, I can do it.[up]

I kind of need a new bag target, and block of foam, but it works for now. If you want to bring the deer target over too, thats cool....

Whatever though, email me if you seriously want to come shoot. Then we can figure it out from there.---Matt

MPEMT, your welcome to come here too.

Matty, I was hiking/scouting Mahlon Dickerson a few weeks ago... I bumped into the old Green Mnt. Bowmen 3-D course.

Oh... and a freaking turkey was gobbling. Whoever owns that property in the back is definitely sneeking into the park to hunt. (Yes, I know the Rockaway River WMA is back there...but if you look on a map... you will see some private property that dudes run the ATVs back there).
