06/14/2009: I took the boys out fishing at the Manasquan Reservoir. The boys tried but did not catch anything. I picked up the pole and put a green Rooster Tail on and first cast I had a big hit. WOW Jesse said that was nice I told him it was probably a trout. Second cast a nice yellow perch. A few more cast I landed a nice crappie. A few more cast and I got HUGE HIT. At first I thought I was snagged on a rock but when the line was peeling off the reel I told Jesse "this is big!" During a fierce fight with the fish, Jesse and I thought it was a big hybrid stripbass maybe a BIG brown trout. There were about 30 people along the rocks and many people riding their bikes and running along the path and everything came to a stop during the battle of the mystery fish. When we finally got a look at the fish we could not believe the size of this small mouth bass. I finally landed the fish and it is the biggest small mouth bass I have ever caught.
